I Hate Planning
The Husband complained that if my blog was too long, I would start boring my readers. That's why there is the 2nd installment today. Not that many of my friends know this blog exists.... Hopefully there's no 3rd installment...but with me being so naggy and long-winded, you may never know!

The Husband and I decided on custom made wedding bands from Fairy's Inc after one evening of looking around at selections offered by the usual jewellery retailers out there. We were so impressed by the creativity of some of the couples that custom made their rings with Fairy's Inc that when we got home, we started thinking really hard on what kind of unique rings we will want. A design that is "Ours". This foolish thought lasted for all of 1 hour before we gave up and conceded that the both of us just do not do creativity. I blame the public schooling system. In the end, we just combined 2 existing designs and came up with our ring.
We had all our catering food sorted out, then like 2 weeks before The Event, we remembered that we forgot to do a list for the BBQ food. So we hurriedly drew up a list but before we could do any shopping (which we planned to! Honestly!), my mother-in-law already bought everything for us. And we had to start inviting our relatives and friends to the ceremony. What happened to me was this : My relatives said they would try to attend. So were they coming or not? Were their kids coming or not? Omigod, how many people will be attending? My friends all wished me well and only like days before the event, a few said they could not make it. My gaming buddies were the best. They were super on from the start. Except I kept forgeting to invite them until like a few weeks before the event....
What happened to The Husband was this : He left it to my mother-in-law to make the calls to the relatives. He invited his friends and colleagues earlier than me.
In the end, The Husband estimated the number of people attending would be around 50-60. I though it was more likely in the range of 80. When we contacted the deputy registrar, he requested for a face to face meeting with us. The first time we met him was in the Burger King's at Raffles Place. What struck us immediately on meeting him was : He looks young. And after chit chatting with him for a while, we discovered that our ceremony will be the first solemnization he's going to conduct. He was really friendly and charming. I am a person who would feel extremely uncomfortable when meeting a stranger for the first time. He made me feel at ease and I could chat with him easily without any of those awkward silences. For the 2 months before 9th September, I felt I was in a roller coaster of emotions. I could be deliriously happy one minute but I could get extremely depressed the next. There were moments when I felt The Husband was moody and cold towards me, and I started to believe that The Husband may have regretted proposing in the first place. I would feel so sad and then I would tell The Husband that he didn't want to marry me, and then he would scold me and say that I am being silly. That would assure me for 1 week before the whole process started again. It was like a having a 2 month long PMS session. I think The Husband was just glad that he did not have to go through it all over again. Well, I am glad I do not have to go through that again. Oh no, I still have the customary ceremony to think about! I hope I do not become a Bridezilla then....
