New Year, New Beginning
It's a new year! Yeah, I know I'm a bit late but can't seem to make myself type anything the past few days.
I didn't do any countdown this year. But anyone who knows me will know I actively avoid going to anyplace for countdowns. Christmas or New Year. Talking about Christmas, this year is like last year. Wrapping 40 presents over the weekend and hope that it's enough. Turns out, I'm short by 5 presnts. OMG, 5! Got a whole big bunch of presents in return too.
Kicked off the New Year with a visit to a deli/restaurant with great food. It's not cheap but the food and the company makes it worthwhile. The only thing weird was when our desserts arrived. My Tarte Madame Tatin came...unassembled. I was looking for the tart but after a while, I figured I had to combine the biscuit with the lemon cream and the granny smith apple together to get the whole tart. Kinda weird. But not as weird as the cheesecake that came in a glass. I actually asked the waitress where's the cheesecake.
Having lots and lots of driving lessons too because my test is on Monday! *Panic, freaked out mode* Thankfully I have a good instructor that doesn't scold me . If not I will be too stressed during lessons to actually learn anything. I learned a lot within these few months of driving lessons.
I paid my first visit to GV Gold Class Theatre in Vivocity. It's very posh, has it's own seating area and bar for people waiting for their movie to start. The theatre itself is small and has a limited number of seats and there are a total of 3 theatres. But the seats are big and comfortable and the walkway is wide. So there are no "excuse me" or "sorry" when people walk pass your row. There is a leg rest that you can raise it up too and they even provided blankets for every seat. There is a menu and when you required the server, you press a button on the table between the seats. The server will appear, take you order on a PDA and return with it later. The menu consists of full meals, desserts and drinks. Unfortunately, you have to pay for everything you order on the menu. One glass of coke, that came in an actual glass cup, costs $4.00. But the menu sadly didn't contain any popcorn. Or Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. And all these came at a very nice price of $25.00 per ticket.
We caught Curse of the Golden Flower. It's actually very very nice! Unfortunately, they had some really big caliber actors and actresses like Chow Yun Fatt and Gong Li so the newbie Actor Jay Chou really paled in comparison. And of course, it's cleavages all round. I wonder how many corsets were used in this show.
