Blah Blah Blah
First to vent. I am very very very very disappointed with Brazil. Bah! Shoes My shoes has been spoiling at a rather alarming rate recently. I swear my feet didn't grow any broader, and I didn't put on any alarming amount of weight, so why are they all spoiling on me! One pair gave up on me after only 2 wears. It got fixed and promptly died, again, on the next use. And it's not a cheap pair. Stupid shoe. It's now somewhere in the incinerator. Others were old when they gave up. But must they all give up within the same few months? And they all have the tendency to die when I am in the office. I end up limping home in a destroyed shoe and attracting stares on the way. The evil evil Internet Oh, the evils of internet. I am now an avid reader of a lot of gossip blogs. It actually saves me a lot of money from buying tabloids. But the flip side is that I can actually know about so many useless stuff like a lot of people are questioning whether Suri Cruise exists. Why do these useless information take up a piece of prime real estate in my mind? Things that I have to remember now are usually forgotten in the space of minutes. But the most evil thing about the internet is that it has introduced me to internet shopping. I am trying my very best to learn to control my shopping impulses on the internet. Maybe I should stop surfing beauty forums. Looking at the pictures and photographs, it's only a click of a button away to add it into my collection of clothes/accessories/whatever else that is overflowing in my closet. And, it's so easy to say, "it's so much cheaper over the net!" and start clicking away and before you know it, you are spending than a hundred dollars on nail polishes. The Perils of Boredom Now that I am gameless (not playing any MMORPG, Single player watever) now, I find myself vegetating in front of the TV. It's not that bad because I will watch programmes like Discovery Channel. But now I am kinda freaking myself out after watching so many aircrashes. On the other hand, I fell in love with these Cloud Leopards or Clouded Leopards (see how bad my memory is?) I saw on TV the other day. They look so much like kittens! With nothing to do means more time to surf the net to read up gossip news and surf more internet shopping sites and the end result is a memory that's even worse than swiss cheese and a very very empty wallet.
World Cup Fever
It's the soccer season now!
Me, who has never watched the English Premier League, Italian Serie A etc., is caught up in the fever. The World Cup only happens once in four years, why not join in the fun?
I am not watching soccer for the eye candy (Although there are some seriously yummy eye candy out there), I am not watching it because I have just dumped my life savings to bet whether some team will win (I'd rather spend it on a cute clothes/accessories/shoes) and I am not watching it because I have no choice as The Chosen One is glued to the television set (I think I watch it more than him sometimes).
I'm watching it because it's a soap opera out there! The excitement factor is high! It's more interesting than any other programs on the television now!
And I just did something I have never done before; hang out with friends at Clarke Quay Central Square watching the match between Germany and Argentina on big screen TV. The tables were full of people, people were standing around, the empty space before the big screen TV was seated to maximum capacity. And this is the first time I have seen loyal fans waving the German Flag and singing the German Club cheer every 10 minutes. The atmosphere was...addictive. It amplified the excitement of the match, making people shout, scream, cheer and celebrate more than usual.
Imagine, what the atmosphere and mood of fans in the stadiums in Germany will be. I don't think my imagination can compare to the real thing at all.
