    One Track Mind
Do men really have a single track mind?

    Scratch men.

    Males.

    Favouritism

Cookie was forced to spend a few days with my in-laws when we went on our holiday.

I was told that unfortunately Cookie is male, as Lego (the reigning golden retriever) is also male and hates male dogs.
Lego, however, allows female dogs to eat from his bowl.

I told The Chosen One that unless I bring Cookie for a sex change operation, we now have to worry about Lego killing Cookie and not puppies.

True enough, when Lego finally ascertained that Cookie is a male, he went all barking mad and refused to make friends with Cookie after that.
Cookie, being the stupid dog that he was, still happily tried to play with Lego.
We brought them both out for a walk together and Lego ignored Cookie the whole time.

On the other hand, I can confirm Lego is not gay.

    Caught in the act

Going to the bathroom, I heard this "Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!" coming out from Isaiah's room.
Since the door was open and the room was dark, I switched on the light and peeped inside.

Weird, the 2 hedgehogs were in the same tank.
They were stuck side by side and going around in circles.
It looked like one was bent on sticking close to the other and the other was bent on getting away.
And one of them was making the squeaking noise but I couldn't figure out which one.

A quick call to Isaiah to confirm that they were not supposed to be together, The Chosen One grabbed a hankie to remove one of them from the tank.

Hedgehogs are very prickly creatures and they poke through hankies.

The Chosen One grabbed one and we think that was the male.
Because when deposited in his own tank, he was running frantically up and down the tank, jumping the sides and squeaking non stop.
Maybe he was scolding us for preventing him from having a good time?

The female one stayed in one spot and got pricklier than usual.

According to Isaiah, the female will squeak when the male is around. After separating them, the male will squeak in anger.

By the time we finished separating the tanks so that they were not side by side, the male hedgehog was attempting to jump out of the tank.

    The power of love.

    Or should I say...sex?

    Aftermath
Just back from Hong Kong and it's a hectic, expensive trip.

Me and my love for Disney....

But somehow I still feel I didn't shop enough!

Pics and summary will follow. ;)

    Have you seen this man?
Ever met a certain breed of people, who can talk nonstop, never get to the point and also, at the same time block anything that you might want to tell them?
They say they know and understand everything.
Then, like a bad penny, they turn around and said no one told or taught them anything.

Try to explain something to them and they will acknowledge, make the appropriate noises but when it's time to put theory into practise, they end up doing all the wrong things because they never listened to you in the first place.
Or you try to clarify something with them and they will get defensive while you have to get past the prickly shield and try to knock some sense into their head that their understanding is wrong to begin with.
And after all that, you wonder if they will remember what you have taught them when they encounter the same problem the next time.

They also cannot answer straight to the point.
Ask them one question and expect a full account of what they did all the way from the beginning and go on and on and you will be gritting your teeth and wondering will it be very rude of you to ask them to go straight to the point.
And by the time they finally finish their monologue and are long gone, you realise that they have not answered the question!
Or ask them a polite question on how they are doing and get a long long winded reply that does not seem to want to end and you end up making a mental note to yourself to never greet them with any other questions or actions other than a smile.

If you interact with this person, say once in a while, you may find them exasperating and seek to avoid them as much as possible.

But if you are one of the unfortunate, who actually have to work with them, I wish you good luck.

Can someone wish me luck too?

    Cookie
I just got a new camera!
And hot on the heels of the new camera, is a new family member.

    Meet Cookie!

He's an adorable, active, very social, one and a half year old Cocker Spaniel.
Minou is not taking too well to this new addition and has given me a whole load of battle scars.
I hope they can become friends soon....

I wanted to call him Chocolate Chip Cookie but The Chosen One and my sis complained it's too long.
    Oh well.

Cookie's old name was Flash and he was the companion of a busy busy expatriate. He has no time to take care of Cookie so he gave him away.
My colleague took him in but his younger daughter was terrified of Cookie.
So I took him in and my sister is going to help me take care of him until I move into my new place when it's ready.
Cookie has already stolen all our hearts....

    Another good news!
The Chosen One's niece is born on the 2nd of September 2006!
    Yay~
A little one in the house!
